The "Duel in the sun" was the name given to the battle between Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson in the 1977 Open Championship at Turnberry, Scotland.

Watson eventually came out on top in a thrilling battle between two of the greatest players of all time. Between them they won 27 majors in total.
