Tiger Woods has enjoyed a spectacular 2013, winning five PGA Championships and topping the money list. However, he has failed to win a single Major. So, can Woods win a Major next year?
In short, Woods should really win a Major next season. If last season is anything to go by then it seems illogical that he won't be in the mix. 2013 saw the return of Woods' dominance as he won event after event in the early part of the season. His performances in the Majors were promising as well, finishing fourth at the Augusta Masters while also being in contention for victory at the Open before fading away during the final round. 2013 has given Woods a solid grounding to build on and if he starts 2014 in the same vein of form then he could be on for a bumper year.
The Masters in April will be Tiger's first opportunity to win a Major. The Masters is probably Woods' best chance of a major and he is currently priced at 11/2 with Paddy Power to win it. Woods has won the Masters four times and knows the Augusta course like the back of his hand. The experience Woods has of this course could play dividends next year and if he arrives in good form then he looks like a serious contender in the golf betting odds for the Green Jacket .
Woods can also be comforted by the fact that the Open takes place the Royal Liverpool Golf Club next year. The course has not held the Open since 2006 which was brilliantly won by Tiger Woods, who finished 18 strokes under par. This gives Woods a decent advantage as the younger players such as Rory Mcllroy have no experience of the course. Woods is priced at 7/1 with Paddy Power to win the Open.
2013 was the return of Tiger Woods and 2014 should see Woods mark his return with a Major. Tiger is 7/4 to win one Major during 2014 with Paddy Power . If he doesn't then he can consider his season a failure.
