Course details

Firknowe - A good long iron or lofted wood required to find the target. Even then a difficult two putts are required to secure par on the sloping green. Sunny Acres - A difficult par 4, almost impossible to hit in two shots. Perhaps accept playing for a five. Wrae Burn - Reasonable tee-shot required, to leave a short to mid iron approach to a very fast, sloping green. Try and leave an uphill putt.
Jedderfield - The first birdie chance but be aware the tricky green that's easy to three putt. No real length required off the tee to leave a short iron approach. Meilklehope - Keep the tee shot left to allow for the slope and kick to the right. A shot from the left side gives a clearer approach to the green. Glensax - The opposite of no. 5, a drive to the right side of the fairway should kick down and round a few extra yards. Keep the approach right of the pin to allow for the kick left.
Colt's Choice - A straight forward short hole, if you hit the green! All sorts of difficult pitches await a stray tee shot. Peggy's Lea - Usually downwind, a solid tee shot leaves a mid to short iron for a possible birdie chance. Hearthstanes - Again downwind, should be on or very close after two or three shots to give a definite birdie chance.
Kitleyknowe - Looks easy but is one of the most difficult holes to play. A solid straight tee shot leaves a shot of anything from 200 to 100 yards depending on the wind. Again a difficult 2 putts await to try and secure par. Windyridge - Marker pole is the line from the tees. Main aim is to clear the slope, to leave sight of the green. The Rushes - Left side takes the bunker out of play. To go over the bunker, the wind is usually against and across left to right, so one more club than it looks.
Ca' Canny - Keep tee shot to the right to allow access to the small narrow green. Avoid the greenside bunker, there is little chance of getting up and down in two strokes. Stey Brae - Good drive needed to have any chance of reaching in two. Approach shot is deceptive, takes one or even two more clubs than it looks. Randles Park - Downhill tee shot will roll a long way, to leave an approach shot which can be played 10-15 yards short of the green and bounce on, or be carried all the way to the flag - your choice!
The Whaum - An excellent par 3. Landing area is front right of the green, everything kicks in to the left from there. Langie - A real test. Nothing but two solid shots to reach the target, missing the green leaves a tricky pitch to a sloping fast green. Green Mantle - Line is to the right of marker pole, 2nd shot should leave a short iron approach to the difficult green. The bank on the front of the green can hinder the pitch if your second shot goes too far.
