1. nothing special and nothing terrible either

Duddingston is a very pleasant parkland course, have played it a few times. Some nice holes, but nothing special and nothing terrible either. Lasting memory is the burn which winds its way through the course and seems to pop up on every hole. Although it doesn't always come into play, the burn does snake in front of a number of greens, eg 18, so you won't be running the ball in like at Gullane!

2. Not bad

Played Dudd last a couple of years ago, like others have said it is a very good parkland course although my preference in Edinburgh would be for Mortonhall or its neighbour Braid Hills. Mortonhall is an excellent parkland track whilst the Braids would probably be described as moorland and is my favourite course in Edinburgh. It is a municipal but in common with all the municipals in Edinburgh it is generally in very good order, the greens excellent and the views over the city and the Firth of Forth fantastic.
