Question:

Why is it so difficult for me to take my practice swings on the range to the golf course?

Answer:The longest walk in golf seems to be from the practice tee to the first tee. Somehow we forget everything when we get in the heat of a round. On the range there are fewer obstacles to overcome.

Always practice on the range aiming at something. Do not just hit shots off into oblivion. Practice just like you need to hit each shot a specific distance and line.

At each of our schools we do playing lessons each day for this very reason. Your alignment, tempo, and many other fundamentals seem to change once we walk off the practice tee. You might look to find a professional to give you a playing lesson and make sure you are making the proper fundamental swing that you're making on the practice tee.

Lastly, relax on the course. The best pre-shot routine sometimes is to just take a deep breath before swinging. You're not tense on the practice tee, don't tense up on the course either.
